There are both required and optional reading listed below. The class schedule specifies which of the following material is required reading and specifies the date the reading assignment is due. Questions are drawn exclusively from required reading. Much of the optional material is here those of you pursuing a thesis topic in the area in this area.

Required Text

Much of the required reading is from the following book.

The New United Nations: International Organization in the Twenty-First Century. John Allphin Moore, Jr. and Jerry Pubantz. Upper Saddle River, N.J.: Pearson Prentice Hall, 2006.

Optional Texts

For those of you who might pursue further research in the area, the following optional texts are recommended. The Oxford Handbook is a large anthology, with chapters written by experts in their fields. The Kennedy book reads like a novel rather than a text book.
